Steve Klein has more than 40 years of handicapping experience, including 14 years as the Kentucky handicapper for Daily Racing Form. He writes the analysis for Keeneland, and for Kentucky Cup Day at Turfway Park. Steve also writes an analysis for the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont, and for all of the Breeders' Cup races. Steve is also known for writing his "Bottom Line Handicapping" column, and has written hundreds of Closer Looks, and has made numerous winning selections for races at tracks throughout the United States and Canada. Originally from Southern California, Steve began handicapping at age 8, and spent his summer vacations at Hollywood Park and Del Mar, along with countless visits to Santa Anita, and occasional forays to Fairplex. Steve later became a licensed stock broker for a major brokerage firm, and a licensed stock options trader on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Steve is the author of a book, "The Power of Early Speed," published in December 2005. He has given more than a hundred handicapping seminars at a number of race tracks, off-track betting sites, and book stores, and has been interviewed frequently by radio and television shows in the U.S., Canada, and England.
